A MAN who distracted a pensioner before stealing money from her purse in Bramley is being hunted by police.
The incident happened at around 3pm on Henconner Lane on Monday. The man knocked on the back door of a home, speaking to the owner about maintenance needing to be done to water pipes.
He entered the house and began a conversation with the women in her 70s. Ten minutes later she found she had an amount of money stolen from her purse.
PC Enevoldsen, of Leeds District Crime Team, said: “The suspect has clearly taken steps to try and distract the elderly victim in order to steel from her in her own home.
“The address is on a busy main road, and I believe there will have been a number of people in or around the area around time of the incident, who may have seen the suspect, or someone matching the efit in the area.”
