It seems this year has been Yorkshire’ s time to shine, now one of its most picturesque towns has broken into the ranks of cool.

A street in Harrogate has been voted in a survey by a national media outlet as the 12th coolest in the UK. Montpellier Hill is home to world famous tea room Betty’s along with bars and shops.

The award comes less than a fortnight after tens of thousands of visitors poured into the town as it hosted the Tour de France.

The Telegraph stated that ‘No address beats Montpellier Hill for an English spa town at its best, particularly in spring when the daffodils are at their peak.’

Melanie O’Boyle, owner of a restaurant on the street, said: “We absolutely deserve it, we deserve to be on the map, but especially this street.”
