VIDEO: Police launch fresh appeal for help to find killer of Bradford attack victim

By Jack Goodman

A FRESH appeal is being launched today to find the killer of a man attacked in a Bradford park on what would have been his 22nd birthday.

Officers will be returning to the scene of the attack on Beyake Keita Ann at 1pm today to show an appeal video featuring the victim’s sister and father which was first released in October.

Beyake suffered serious head injuries when he was attacked in Attock Park, Laisterdyke, while playing football with friends on August 23 – and died three weeks later.

West Yorkshire Police are hoping that playing the video at the scene of the crime will encourage more people to come forward with information.

The attack happened after an argument between the footballers and two Asian men after their ball hit a parked car.

An armed gang then descended on the park, armed with machetes and baseball bats – and attacked the footballers.

Detective Chief Inspector Ian Scott, of the Homicide and Major Enquiries Team, said: “Beyake was a young man who today should have been celebrating his 22nd birthday with family and friends.

“We again ask for anyone who was at the park that night, or anyone who may have information and has not yet come forward, to speak with us and tell us what they know.”

Fifteen men have been questioned by detectives as part of the investigation – with nine of them currently on bail.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Homicide and Major Enquiries Team on 101, quoting crime reference 13160363829 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously on 0800 555111.
