Preview: Whitby Town vs Marine
By Paul-Owen Connolly
Whitby Town manager Chris Hardy faces a selection headache when his fourth-placed side host Marine in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier Division.
The Blues will be without captain Steven Snaith, who completes his three-game suspension, as well as midfielder Adam Gell, who picked up his fifth yellow card of the season at Buxton last week.
The centre of the park is proving to be an issue for Hardy. Top-scorer Dale Hopson pulled up during the midweek draw with Workington and will be assessed ahead of kick-off.
Energetic wing-back Callum Martin is also a doubt for the game as he continues his recovery from a calf injury.
He will be boosted by the return of defender Jamie Poole though, who returns from a loan spell with Guisborough Town to provide cover.
The visit of Marine provides another opportunity for Whitby to extend their home unbeaten run to eight and return to the top two of the Evo-Stik Northern Premier Division.
The Seasiders will be looking to get back on track after a 1-1 stalemate with a resurgent Workington on Tuesday night saw them extend their winless run to three.
Marine head into the game on the back of a 3-0 midweek defeat at Stafford Rangers and currently sit in 11th place.
The Mariners will welcome new signing Dean Porter into the squad, with regular stopper Calvin Hare starting a two-game ban.
Striker Craig Lindfield is edging closer to full fitness for the visitors and could be in contention for a start after an appearance from the bench during the midweek defeat.
