Local Leeds choirs help to raise money for Childline

With December well underway and the Christmas spirit in full force, Leeds Minster hosted a candlelit carol service on Thursday to raise money for the NSPCC’s free under 19’s support service Childline.

The event featured refreshments and performances by local choirs: Headingley Voices, Free Range, and Cockburn Community Choir / Cockburn Vocal.

They were also joined by Comedian Lloyd Griffith who displayed his classical music training and Emmerdale’s Laura Norton (Kerry) and Charlotte Bellamy (Laurel) performed a joint reading of The Night Before Christmas.

The event was held at Leeds Minster in support of NSPCC’s Childline, the Christmassy billing included local soap stars Laura Norton and Charlotte Bellamy. Lloyd Griffith was also in attendance with an array of festive songs.

Childline is a service provided by the NSPCC, they offer private, confidential support to young people and can be contacted for free on 0800 1111.
