Police officer injured in Bramley pub fight

A police officer and another man were injured in a fight in a Bramley pub last night.

Police were called to the Acorn Pub in Bramley, at about 7.30pm, following reports of a disturbance.

A 28-year-old year was found nearby with non-life threatening, facial injuries and was taken to hospital.

A police officer attending the incident received minor grazing and two local men have been arrested in connection with the incident.

A 26-year-old man was arrested for assaulting and obstructing a police officer, while a 24-year-old man was arrested for criminal damage after a brick was thrown at a police vehicle.

Inspector Simon Jessop, who heads the Armley, Bramley and Stanningley Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “Enquiries are ongoing and we would like to hear from anyone who witnessed any part of the incident or who has any information that could assist the investigation.”
