New barbecue restaurant to create jobs in Headingley

By Joseph Keith

Red’s True Barbecue restaurant chain has announced it will be opening a new eatery in Headingley, generating 30 new jobs.

redThe business, which already has one restaurant in Leeds, on Call Lane, is preparing to launch a new branch in Headingley.

Co-founder of Red’s, James Douglas said: “We’re delighted to be moving in to the heart of bustling Headingley, into such an incredible building with loads of history. We’ve always loved this area, and can’t think of a better place suited for Red’s, outside of the city centre.”

The announcement comes just four weeks after Red’s opened a new site in Manchester, making the new Headingley launch the third restaurant in their chain – 18 months after opening their doors for the first time in Leeds.

He added: “We’re fortunate enough that our first restaurant is still incredibly busy 18 months on; there’s a real taste for true barbecue in Leeds. Headingley has always had a great hub of independent restaurants and bars, and we believe that Red’s will compliment what’s already here, and help continue to build the local area’s reputation for a great day and night out.”
