Hunt is on for three men suspected of attempted robbery of a Bradford convenience store

Bradford Town Hall

Three men are on the run after threatening a Bradford shop worker and making demands for cash and cigarettes.

A shop worker who was threatened last night was told to hand over cash and cigarettes by three men, one of whom was believed to be carrying a gun, at a convenience store, on Manchester Road, at around 8.40pm.

The shop worker then told the men that he would call the police who then quickly fled the scene.

Police are now looking for the three suspects and have released descriptions of the men.

The suspect believed to be armed with a gun is believed to be of slim build, around six feet tall and covered his face with a red scarf or handkerchief. He was also wearing gloves.

A second man was said to be of slim build, around 5ft 8ins tall and appeared to be in his late teens or early twenties. He was wearing black gloves and a black hooded top and covered his face with a black scarf.

The final suspect was described as white, about 5ft 6ins tall and of a slim build. He is also believed to be in his late teens or early twenties and was wearing a black hooded top and gloves, but no face covering.

Detective Inspector Ryan Bragg, of Bradford District CID, appealed for anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward.

He said: “We believe that someone will have seen these men as they ran from the store and I would urge anyone who may have seen them, or seen some suspicious activity in the Manchester Road area around that time to contact Bradford District CID on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.”
