Biggest all time theatre sensation comes to Bradford

Dirty Dancing

By Caroline Grandjean

Hailed as the “biggest live theatre sensation of all time”, Dirty Dancing will come to the Bradford Alhambra Theatre tomorrow (Tuesday).

The show is currently touring the UK and stops for the first time in Bradford until July 25th.

The 2 hours and 40 minute-long play revisits the sensational American story from the 60s. Renowned for its pounding rhythms, it features hit songs like ”The Time of my life”, “Hey baby” and “Hungry eyes”

Baby will be played by Jessie Hart, who recently graduated from Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts and has since played ‘Agnes’ in the ITV drama Arthur and George and the lead role of ‘Gerda’ in The Snow Queen (Nuffield Theatre).

Meanwhile Lewis Kirk will play the male lead Jonny Castle. Kirk started his Dirty Dancing journey as a member of the 2014/15 touring company. He was previously seen on tour around the UK in Hairspray and has also appeared in Our House 10th Anniversary Concert (Savoy) and in the world premiere of Soho Cinders (Soho).

Tickets are being sold for the show and post party shows taking place in the studio. For more information, go on: http://www.bradford-theatres.co.uk/whats-on/dirty-dancing#scr-moreinfo
