Yorkshire Voice countdown begins!

By Mike Best

Postgraduate journalism students at Leeds Trinity University are counting down to the start of the award-winning Yorkshire Voice production.

From today (Monday July 6th) the nine students will be producing a live web page, and each week day from Monday July 20th to Friday July 31st they will also be producing a rolling TV news bulletin and a fifteen-minute news magazine programme called Yorkshire Voice.

Lecturer Mike Best said: “There is no other experience quite like being involved in live television production and even the most experienced broadcaster gets an adrenaline rush when the red light goes on in the studio. This will be a fantastic opportunity for the students to get a taste of what their life will hopefully be like in the future. It will be challenging, it will be stressful, but above all it will be fun.”

During Yorkshire Voice the journalists, who are in the seventh month of an intensive one-year course, will be taking on all of the editorial and production roles. The Yorkshire Voice programme will be streamed live at 4.45pm every week day.
