York councillors accuse the mayor of highway robbery following the allocation of road maintenance

Tensions are increasing between senior councillors and the mayor of York in North Yorkshire over highway maintenance funding.

They are expecting to receive £268m over the next 4 years which will go towards fixing the road.

However David Skaith, Mayor of York and North Yorkshire states ‘this is a total of £465m to fix our roads and make them safer for everyone who uses them.’
