West Yorkshire police are stepping up efforts to find two men in connection with an attempted robbery investigation in which a man was slashed with a knife and assaulted.
The incident happened on Intake Road, Bradford at about 2.30pm on Wednesday, 12 April.
The 35-year-old victim had got out of his car to smoke when he was approached by two males who asked if they could use his lighter.
One of the males then produced a knife and demands were made for money.
The victim then tried to run away from the males, but they ran after him and assaulted him before running off towards Killinghall Road.
The victim suffered slash wounds to his face and other facial injuries which also required surgery.
Detective Inspector Craig McKay, of Bradford District CID, said: “This was a nasty incident and we are keen to speak to anyone who may be able to identify these men, or anyone who may have seen them acting suspiciously in the area around the time this occurred.”
Police have released two images of the two men they would like to identify.
Both suspects are described as being in their mid-twenties and of scruffy appearance.
One is described as white, of medium build and about 5ft 8ins tall.
He was wearing a black hooded top, jeans and a green and black striped hat.
The second suspect is described as being of mixed race and having a shaved head.
He was wearing a black hooded top.
