Fleetwood Mac entertained more than 10,000 fans to a rendition of their timeless classics in Leeds last night.
The iconic five-piece thrilled fans in a packed-out First Direct Arena with a succession of hits including ‘Dreams’, ‘Big Love’, ‘Don’t Stop’ and ‘Go Your Own Way’.
Their ‘On with the Show’ tour is the first time in 17 years that the classic line-up of Lindsey Buckingham, Stevie Nicks, Mick Fleetwood and former married couple John and Christine McVie have all performed together.
Last night was the band’s 100th performance on their current world tour that began in Minneapolis, USA, last year and is set to end in Auckland, New Zealand, in November.
Caroline Carroll, 55, a teacher from Hull, said: “I have been a huge fan of the band since I first heard their ‘Rumours’ album as a teenager. Seeing them play live has been on my bucket list for a while. Tonight has been amazing, they were simply fantastic.”
Stevie Nicks, the band’s charismatic vocalist, addressed the Leeds crowd throughout the performance and promised to return to the city.
She said: “Today I drove past your beautiful Kirkstall Abbey, it is such a magical and enchanting place. You are lucky to have it and I have promised myself to come back one day and spend some time there.”
The band will play shows in Birmingham and Glasgow before finishing the European leg of their tour in Dublin on 11 July.
