Report: Leeds United 3-0 Rotherham United

Leeds  continue their unbeaten home record with a 3-0 win over Rotherham in a Yorkshire Darby

A comfortable 3-0 win for Leeds over Rotherham this afternoon in the Yorkshire Derby with an early goal from Patrick Bamford considered to be handball and two second-half goals with penalty in the mix. Leeds United continue there excellent home form and stay unbeaten at Elland Road this season.

Coming into the game Leeds come off the back of 1-4 win in in extra time against Plymouth in the FA Cup replay midweek. whilst come off the back of a 2-0 defeat at home Southampton last Saturday. The last time the two sides met it ended 1-1 at  AESSEAL New York stadium  back in November.  But the last time the two sides met Elland Road it was a 2-1 win to Leeds in august 2018.

Rotherham got the game on the way with the first chance coming Rotherham way as earned a corner in the opening seconds. A great ball to Gnonto as he ran down the wing and brought the ball across to Summerville, but it was blown for offside.

The first real chance came to Leeds inside the 5th minute with a good ball into the centre of the box only to be comfortably saved into the grasp of the keeper hands.  Leeds looked sharp played some good football as Rotherham tried and break them down.  A great chance by Rutter, it was blocked by the Rotherham United defender which.  Leeds takethe lead on 9 minutes was a good cross from Rutter and Bamford headers home, Rotherham United claim that it was a hand ball 1-0 Leeds.

  Leeds made good play and dominated the game as inside 15 minutes.  a crunching tackle on Rodon by Hugill but no card was given. Play looked good from Leeds as they hundred for the second. A great move into the box from Rutter and his chance just over the bar. The chances keep coming for Leeds dominating the game. Rotherham started to pick things up and create one or two chances looking brighter. Although Rotherham looked brighter Leeds managed to breakdown play defend well. On 36 minutes Gnonto was brought down on the edge of the area but  no free kick. Shot came in from the right side from Gray an a great block from Johansson.  On 41 minutes great chances as Gnoto took it on the right side the great fingertip save was made by Johansson earning leeds a corner. Only two minutes was added on at the end of the first half.  As the first half came to a end a big cheer around Elland Road as Huddersfield were 2-0 up again Southampton which put Leeds into second.

Leeds kicked off proceeding, but Rotherham look bright early on in the second half. Bamford hit the crossbar and Gnoto putting it over. A great   ball from Rutter and a lovey run into the box from Summerville and slotted it home to make it 2-0 Leeds on 52 minutes. Leeds had the chance to make it 3-0 as they were given a penalty. The goalkeeper went the wrong way and Summerville chipped it into the back of the net 3-0 leeds 59 minites. Leeds dominated the game with both sides making substitutions as leeds have made 4 substitutions bring on Byram, Piroe, creswell, Joseph and New loan signing Roberts. Rotherham the brough on 4 subs Nombe, Rinomhota, Humphries, Rathbone and Eaves.  Leeds griped the second half and with a few good chances but but nothing more came. at the end of the second half 4 added minutes was givin and the game finished 3-0. This extend leeds unbeaten run at home this season.
