Police appeal for witnesses of attempted arson attack in Batley

West Yorkshire Police are appealing for witnesses after a suspect attempted to set a glass bottle on fire outside of a house on Surrey Street, last night.

The suspect also threw a number of items at the property before attempting to set the gas bottle alight outside the house around 2am last night.

But the occupant was able to extinguish it before it caused any damage.

Detective Constable Mark Gregory from Dewsbury CID urged anyone with information to come forward.

He said: “Anyone who may have seen this attempted arson, or may have any other information in connection with this can call me on 101 or callCrimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
