Podcast: Formula One teams ready for new season as testing ends

By Jack Simpson, Jamie Woodhouse, Monika Parnarauskaite & Richard Wright

As Formula One pre-season testing draws to a close, excitement is building as the first race rapidly approaches.

This week we will be discussing the fallout from testing, as Mercedes, Ferrari and Red Bull look mightily close.

However, it’s not gone well for some, with McLaren already going through six engines, as they struggle for power and reliability with their redesigned unit.

The F1 grid will be without its defending world champion Nico Rosberg following the German’s shock retirement at the end of last season.

Lance Stroll will be the first Canadian in F1 since the great Jacques Villeneuve, when he takes part in his first race in Australia. But it’s not been easy for the 18-year-old rookie, with the Williams driver crashing his car three times in winter testing.

With the first race in Melbourne just around the corner, many pundits and commentators are still undecided on who has done the best job.

What do you think?
