Otley’s Food and Drink Festival is on Sunday 15th July and the town’s patisserie team will be first on stage.
The owner of Patisserie Viennoise, Trevor Backhouse, and manager Janet Hartley, will present a cookery demonstration at 11am.
The market town’s Food and Drink Festival is free for everyone and over 50 stalls are expected to line Market Square. Festivities will begin at 10am and finish at 4pm.

Mr Backhouse, a baker by trade, opened his chocolatiers in 1986. He works with his team, Janet Hartley, Emma White and Megan Lawrence. They offer bespoke cakes and chocolates to help people celebrate any occasion. If you can imagine it, they can make it.
“Nothing is impossible,” said Mr Backhouse. “We’ve made a Taj Mahal wedding cake before, and we’ve done the Eiffel Tower, Fountains Abbey – even the local Waitrose.
“If people want to discuss what they want, they can call us, find us on Facebook or the old-fashioned way and come into the shop.”
Mr Backhouse tells us the secrets to his patisserie’s success:
