Leeds Force v Newcastle Eagles – Tip Off 7:30pm

By Declan Campbell

It’s game time tonight at the Carnegie Sports Arena as Leeds Force look to bounce back from their 80-77 defeat to the Surrey Scorchers on Saturday.

The game was lost in the dying seconds last Saturday against the Surrey Scorchers with Rob Sandoval seeing a late effort narrowly avoid the net.

The previous meeting between the two ended in an 86-91 defeat for the Force. Newcastle currently sit top of the league and are currently the reigning British Basketball League cup champions.

Leeds will be determined to take the game to the table toppers and end their baron, 7 game winless run. The Force may have the perfect opportunity to do so, with Newcastle currently on a low after losing their recent match to the Plymouth Raiders.

Leeds Force are currently seeking inspiration for their campaign and will be hopeful for a quick turnaround in fortunes and the Force currently 11th, second bottom, while their opponents are currently joint top with the Leicester Riders.

Forward Rob Marsden spoke to the evening post ahead of tonight’s game and said: ““Surrey is out of our system now. We took the positives from the game and are now fully looking at beating Newcastle and showing everyone we can mix it with anyone on the court.”

Inspiring words from the Force forward whose 70% free through percentage may be a weapon Leeds will look to use in order to turn the game in their favour.
