ROBBERS BRANDISHING an axe and disguised in Halloween masks stormed Woodies Craft Ale House in Headingley on Sunday (October 15).
Three men burst into the pub on Otley Road just before midnight, threatening staff with knives as well as the axe as they closed up.
The robbers stole a large amount of cash before escaping over a wall in the beer garden.
Det Insp Charlotte Hails, of Leeds District CID, said: “This was a frightening experience for the staff involved and we would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or saw the men leaving the scene.”
A spokesperson from the Woodies Craft Ale House said: “We can confirm that there was a break in at the pub overnight, however no one was injured. We remain open for business as usual and are helping police with their enquiries.”
Woodies Craft Ale House is well-known for being the first stop on the “infamous” Otley-run pub crawl in Leeds, which attracts thousands of people a year.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Leeds District CID via 101 quoting crime number 13170479545 or call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
