A glittering new production of Cole Porter’s classic musical comedy, Kiss Me, Kate, is opening its national tour at Leeds Grand Theatre from September 2015.

Set during a production of a musical version of Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew, Kiss Me, Kate revolves around the turbulent love lives of actor-manager Fred Graham and his leading lady and ex-wife, Lilli Vanessi.

With the rest of the cast including Fred’s lover Lois Lane, her gambling boyfriend Bill and a couple of gangsters thrown in to the mix, the stage is set for a comical roller-coaster of emotions and clashes of the sexes.

A charming tribute to Shakespeare’s wit and a celebration of the crazy world of theatre, Cole Porter’s witty, jazz-inflected score features a number of show-stopping hits and is set to be a hotter than hot performance.
