Yorkshire sculptor Emma Stothard made a Craven heifer from galvanised steel to celebrate the 160th Great Yorkshire Show
IF YOU know your Lonks from your Texels you’ve probably been to the Great Yorkshire Show today, along with thousands of other visitors at the prestigious farming event.
The 160th annual show – one of the biggest in England – runs until Thursday at the Harrogate Showground, with Princess Anne due to visit tomorrow (Wednesday).
More than 8,500 animals, including horses, poultry, pigs, cattle, sheep and goats, were shampooed and scrubbed for the judges and crowds which number 130,000 over the three days.
As well as livestock the show’s attractions include cookery demonstrations by celebrity chefs, falconry displays, woodcarving and poleclimbing.
