City Beach 14

There will be no need to go abroad this summer for the perfect beach holiday as Leeds City Beach returns for a second time in August.

Leeds City Beach will bring the feeling of the seaside back to Millennium Square after a successful debut last year. Features set to return this summer are a traditional Ferris wheel, a tropical adventure funhouse, a beach slide and the ‘Crazy Wave’ fair ground ride.

Beach goers will also be treated to new attractions alongside the returning favourites. Punch and Judy shows will be on show each Saturday from 12 noon and appearances from the Heart Angles, as well as various beach games and activities.

Councillor Lucinda Yeadon, Leeds City Council’s executive member for digital and creative technologies, culture and skills said: “It is really great news that the sights and sounds of the summer will be returning through ‘City Beach’ to the unique surroundings of Millennium Square this August.

“Once again there will a range of fun and attractions on offer for all the family to enjoy, which will include thrill rides, attractions, and beach themed food and drink.”

International Funfairs will be working with Leeds City Council to bring the beach to West Yorkshire and will be free on entry, with some attractions requiring individual Admission charges.

Leeds City Beach will be open daily from 10.30am to 7pm and run from August 9 until August 31.
