Giants on a three game losing streak as they prepare for Baltimore’s visit

Preview: NFL:  Baltimore Ravens at New York Giants

By Cameron Hogwood

The New York Giants will be looking to end their three game losing streak on Sunday as the MetLife stadium welcomes the Baltimore Ravens.

Head coach Ben McAdoo’s Giants enter their week six matchup on the back of a 23-16 defeat to the Green Bay Packers in a game that sparked debate over the future of quarterback Eli Manning.

Manning was offered little protection by his offensive line yet again as he suffered six hits and was eventually sacked three times.

He told Giants.com: “The last two weeks it hasn’t been as good as we want it to, but we are still doing some good things. We hit a couple big plays in the passing game, had a couple more opportunities that we just missed.”

Baltimore are on the hunt for a fourth win of the season after two consecutive defeats halted their impressive 3-0 winning start.

The Ravens slumped to a 16-10 defeat to the Washington Redskins last time out.

Fox Sports’ Peter Schrager touched on the very mixed start to the season experienced by the two sides but backed the Giants to secure coach McAdoo’s third win of his debut season in charge.

He told the baltimoreravens.com: “Talk about two teams cascading off a mountain, going in the completely wrong direction after promising starts. I’ve got to think the home team finds a way.”

The Giants come into the game having made the least amount of sacks in the league with a tally of just four despite spending $85million on their defensive line during the off-season.

Their opponents have shown they have defensive frailties of their own having allowed touchdowns on 77.8% of teams’ trips inside red-zone.

Both sides will see this as a must win game in the tough fight for a play-off spot.
