France gained a 2 – 1 victory with an Antoine Griezmann stunner and a well worked goal for Mbappe . In what was a back and forth game France would take the lead twice with a Vlasic stunner to separate them . France were the better team with them having a plethora of chances but6 not converted all of them and Croatia will take a few positives with Perisic having a Steller game.
The first major chance in the game lead to a goal , when Ferland Mendy swoop past Ivan Perisic and drilled the ball into the box where it would be deflected right into the path of Antoine Griezmann who hit a stunning shot into the top right corner adding to the Barcelona man’s impressive goal tally. Minutes later France came again this time with Martial who worked is way through 3 Croatian defenders and found wonderkid Mbappe who completely missed an open net to put the Frenchmen 2 goals ahead.
Croatia had minimal chances but one pivotal one later in the first half when Petkovic makes the most of a shoddy French clearance and burst through France’s half but was what looked like to be cynically fouled outside of the box by Lenglet but nothing was given.
Both teams made postive changes at the half with Chelsea man Kovacic and Brekalo coming on for Croatia and for France Coman and youngster Camavinga came on
It was not long into the second half when Croatia equalized with a piece of Vlasic magic as he received the ball just inside the box and swung at the ball with the outside of his foot and LLoris was left standing as the ball rolled into the bottom left
10 minutes later France regained their leads when the substitute Paul Pogba found Digne with a lovely ball , Digne then placed it into the box to put it on a plate for Kylian Mbappe to put the Frenchmen into the lead.
There will be worries for Everton as there star LB Lucas Digne limped of the pitch , luckily for France they have a capable hands of Lucas Hernandez
France will cement 2nd in the table as Croatia sit in 3rd with a substantial gap between both teams it look very unlikely that Croatia can get 2nd but Portugal do lead the group on goal differences they will rue there missed chance
