Elderly woman targeted whilst watching TV in Bramley

By Mike Berriman

Police are appealing for information after a woman in her eighties was burgled whilst watching television with headphones on in her home.

The intruder forced the latch on the front door before sneaking in and then leaving unseen.

They stole jewellery, a chequebook, passports and personal documents from a bedroom.

The incident happened between 6pm and 10pm on Tuesday 17 July.

PC Jenni MacDonald, of Leeds District Neighbourhood Crime Team, said: “It is appalling that someone would target the home of an elderly and vulnerable victim like this. We would like to hear from anyone who saw anyone in the area around the time of the incident or who has any information that could assist the investigation.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact PC 6025 MacDonald at Weetwood Police Station via 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
