Bees aim to get their sting back against Yeovil

By George Rogan

Yeovil travel to the Hive to face Barnet in Sky Bet League Two with both sides struggling for form.

Barnet sit 19th in the table and are aiming to end a run of eight games without a win. However, an 85th minute goal in midweek from top scorer Shaquille Coulthirst gave the Bee’s a 1-1 draw with Mansfield.

Yeovil come into the game having only won two out of their last 10 and have the second leakiest defence in the league, conceding 28 goals. Defender Bevis Mugabi scored his first goal for the club on Tuesday but it wasn’t enough as Yeovil succumbed to a 2-1 defeat away at Cambridge.

The sides last met back in March when a late equaliser from on loan defender Liam Shephard earned Yeovil a point in London. They will also be buoyed in the fact that Barnet have never beaten the Somerset based club at home.

Barnet will be without last season’s top scorer John Akinde who is out with a hamstring injury. Coulthirst is expected to lead the line and has impressed so far this season, scoring 7 goals since arriving from Peterborough in the summer.

Yeovil will be missing attacker Jordan Green while defender Sid Nelson is a doubt as he is recovering from surgery on his nose. Striker Francois Zoko is expected to return to the side after serving a suspension in midweek.

Yeovil manager Darren Way said he feels his sides performances will soon transfer into results: “I think the group are improving, every individual that we’ve got in the group is starting to understand – certainly the newer ones and the loanees – what League Two is all about.”

Striker John-Louis Akpa Akpro will be pushing for a start for Barnet as he comes up against his former club.
