The steps of Leeds Town Hall provided a stage for the Yorkshire Remain Voice Choir’s performance in Leeds city centre this afternoon.
The choir sang classic songs with a pro-EU twist including, What Shall We Do With the Drunken Sailor and Ilkley Moor Bar T’at.
Group organiser Richard Sadler said: “We’re Yorkshire for Europe, we’re not affiliated with any political party.
“We believe that Brexit will be a disaster for the people of Yorkshire.”
Choir member Helen Shay reiterated that the aim of the campaign is to encourage people to vote tactically in order to block Brexit.
Helen Shay, who is a member of the Women’s Equality Party, said: “Women tend to be at the bottom of the heap, they have a lot of the lower-paid jobs, particularly in the care industry.
“Those are the jobs that will be threatened when we have an economic downturn through Brexit.”
Choir members were not exclusively from Yorkshire, with one member of the choir telling Yorkshire Voice that she has campaigned in the various parts of the country in which she has lived.

Richard Sadler added: “We are part of a world that is interconnected.
“Now is the time that we need to be together with our European friends and partners most.
“The alternative is that we end up completely at the mercy of corporate America.
“What we’re asking voters is, do you trust this extreme right-wing Conservative government to look after your best long-term interests?
“I would urge you to reflect on the fact that that trust would not be well placed.”
The choir will continue their tour of Yorkshire over the coming week in the final lead up to the election.
The Big Red Bus for Remain will be back in Leeds this Saturday stopping off in Morley and Pudsey.
