For the first time in the 2022 season, the NFL comes back to London for two teams to re-ignite one of the sports longest and most storied rivalries, The Minnesota Vikings play the New Orleans Saints at the Tottenham hotspur stadium.
The Vikings come into this game after a thrilling win 28-24 victory over the Detroit Lions this past Sunday at the U.S Bank Stadium in Minnesota. The Vikings love coming over to the UK to play and they will be looking to make it a third victory in a row on these shores. They first visited in 2013 and last visited five years ago defeating the Cleveland Browns at Twickham.
The Saints on the other hand come into this game in a possible state of panic after losing two on the bounce to Carolina Panthers and The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 22-14 and 20-10 respectively. The Saints like the Vikings are no stranger to playing in London sporting a 2-0 record across the pond after defeating the San Diego Chargers (now the LA Chargers) and defeating the Miami Dolphins in 2017 in a 20-0 shutout victory.
Although the Vikings have form and momentum on their side, it is the Saints that were victorious the last time to two teams met on Christmas Day 2020. The Saints blew away the Vikings in a 52-33 where the Saints led 31-27 going into the fourth quarter but came out all guns blazing to outscore them 21-6 to take the bragging rights.
