Preview: Derby County vs Leeds United, 3pm
By Jamie Woodhouse
Leeds United travel to Pride Park to face a Derby side in crisis.
The Rams have won only one of their previous six games in the Sky Bet Championship, leaving them 20th in the table.
Former manager Nigel Pearson left the club by mutual consent after being suspended last month following an argument with owner Mel Morris. Derby won only one of their nine league games under Pearson.
Chris Powell was appointed as caretaker manager, after working as assistant manager under Pearson.
Leeds sit 11th in the table, picking up four wins in their last six Championship matches. New Zealand international Chris Wood is the club’s top scorer this season, with five goals in 11 league games.
Head Coach Garry Monk will be serving his one match touchline ban. He was sent to the stands in Leeds’ 1-0 defeat to Bristol City for using abusive language and was also fined £2,000.
Whites captain Liam Bridcutt will miss out as he continues to rehab from a broken foot which he suffered in training last month.
Gaetano Berardi is continuing his recovery from a hamstring injury he picked up in Leeds’ first league game of the season. The rightback played in a behind closed doors friendly in midweek at the club’s Thorp Arch training ground, and could be pushing to make the bench.
George Thorne is still unavailable for Derby with a fractured leg.
