High-flying Rovers face out-of-form Colchester

Preview: Doncaster Rovers vs Colchester United, 3pm

By Jordan Young

With both teams being relegated from League 1 last season, it is the first time these two familiar faces will meet in League 2.

Doncaster are unbeaten in their last four, while Colchester are winless after their last six, including a disappointing draw against bottom of the table Newport County last Saturday.

The last time they played each other, Colchester beat the Rovers by a mile with a score of 4-1. However, the U’s current top scorer Chris Porter scored in that match against Doncaster, and therefore could be a threat that Doncaster defenders need to watch out for.

Colchester have a few injuries also including Tom Lapslie, Owen Garvan, and Doug Loft. Luke Prosser is still suspended.

Although currently looking like the better side, Doncaster have conceded 10 goals in their last five games so this may be where Colchester can pick up something.

With Doncaster second in the League and one of the top contenders to be promoted, Colchester may have a challenge on their hands as they have been struggling to get a win and are mid-table at 12th.
