Bristol City came into this game off the back of a midweek draw away Coventry City. Leeds came off the back of an FA Cup draw against Plymouth Argyle last Saturday. City sat mid table with a new manager who would been in the job since November replacing Nigel Pearson who last took charge of the side when they played Elland Rd earlier on in the season.

Bristol City kicked the game off at 8:00
It was an even game in the opening couple of minutes. a challenge from gray on Pring, but the Bristol City player was fine to continue. Leeds earned the first corner of the game, some good attacking play from both sides, but no chance was created as ninth minute had gone. Nothing came from the Leeds conner play today of the area and a shot from Rodon that went over the bar. After a Bristol City corner Summerville went one-on-one towards the goalkeeper blocked the shot on the edge of the area, and Leeds looked good with attacking play.
On 15 minutes an applause for two young Bristol City fans who lost their lives earlier on in the week. Bristol City looked nervy as Leeds kept the pressure on the city. A chance on 19 minutes that went way over the crossbar from Somerville, halfway through the first half Bristol City had a chance with the ball across and fell to the feet of a Leeds man that was cleared away. Leeds made great runs upfield but couldn’t find that end product.
Leeds United still piled the pressure on Bristol City looking for the opening goal of the game and could have been three or four by now. Leeds’ dancing footwork proved to be too much, and Bristol capitalized on the opportunity to go forward but it wasn’t enough for Bristol City and Leeds won the ball back.
Bamford brought the ball into the box on the edge of the area and played a short pass that was saved and just over from Rutter, 36 minutes gone Leeds maneuvered the ball well in the box as shout for a penalty but nothing is given.
Bristol City given a free kick outside the area with a challenge from firpo with two minutes of added time given at the end of the first half. A chance for both sides to capitalize on the ins and outs of the first half.
Leeds kicked off the second half. And took their chances straight away a lovely ball Gnoto who want us to go round the defender and knock the ball home 1-0 Leeds on 48 minutes. which pushed them second in the league.
Leeds United left off where they started dominating the play and creating chances as they looked for the 2nd on 52 minutes. Even when Bristol got forward Leeds United managed to clear their lines and defend well. Bristol City made two changes in 58 minutes as Williams was replaced by Gardner-Hickman and Wells replaced by Mehmeti. The first booking of the game came after a foul on Gonoto by Dickie in 58.
65 minutes brought the first real opportunity for Bristol City, that was a good run into the box and a great save by the keeper. It looks a lot livelier from Bristol City well into the second half starting to push forward and looking to create chances. Bristol City made their 3rd sub taking McCrorie off for Bell on 72 minutes. It was an even on 77 minutes as both sides are playing their part in creating chances. Another great chance by Somerville. Leeds makes their first substitution on 83 minutes taking off goal scorer Gnoto for Antony. On 86 minutes Leeds bring on Byram for Karma
Leeds still pushing to get the 2nd and it is just too much Bristol City still pushing forward to trying to get the equalizer with four added minutes it’s very balanced with two minutes left to play. And in the 92nd minute Leeds make their final substitution taking off Somerville for Piroe
Full time came Ashton gate and Leeds took all the three points back to West Yorkshire and climbed temporarily, into second it was only one nil but a well-earned free point and for Leeds and disappointing week for bristol city but there were positives to take away for both sides out of tonight game.
