The Princess of Wales visited Super League side Wakefield Trinity on Tuesday to partake in the clubs Foundation’s ‘In Touch’ sessions which aims to tackle social isolation within the elderly groups of the Wakefield area.

Her Royal Highness then met students from The King’s School in Pontefract who were supported by the Foundation during their delivery of ‘Inspiring Futures’ which is funded by RFL partners ‘The Youth Endowment Fund’ which uses Rugby League to change behaviour amongst the youth.
To complete her trip to Wakefield, Her Royal Highness met girls from Outwood Grange Academy and Crofton Academy who are partner schools of the Foundation who were joined by men’s first team captain Mike McMeeken as week as women’s first team captain Kaitlin Varley.
This trip follows the Prince of Wales’ visit to Leeds where he opened the MND centre which has been built in the name of Leeds Rhinos legend Rob Burrow who alongside his best friend Kevin Sinfield raised millions of pounds to help find a cure for Motor Neurone Disease.
