Presenters of The Naked Podcast set to give talk at Leeds Trinity University’s Media and Journalism Week

By Martha Sanders

Kat Harbourne and Jenny Eells, Co-Presenters of BBC Sheffield’s, The Naked Podcast, are set to share the story behind the BBC’s most revealing podcast next week.

The show has been pushing boundaries since 2018 as each episode sees Harbourne, Eells and their interviwee strip off to discuss taboo subjects.

As well as sharing how the podcast was born, Harbourne and Eells will be talking about some of their most unusual moments and why they believe in people doing the things that scare them the most.

For Harbourne, who completed her masters in radio journalism at Leeds Trinity in 2009 this will be a return to her roots.

The pair are excited to use the talk to pass on their knowledge to the next generation of students.

Harbourne said: “When we started The Naked Podcast we made a vow that we would do what we could to help encourage and inspire other women (and men) to have the confidence to speak up and share their stories.

“Both of us have had so much helpful advice and encouragement during our careers we would like to pay it forward.

“It’s thrilling to help encourage the new generation of journalists.”

The talk is at 1pm on Tuesday 3 November and will be available to stream live on Yorkshire Voice’s YouTube and Facebook.
