Police appeal for witnesses in ‘scar face’ Dewsbury car jacking

By Matthew Brannen

Police have appealed for witnesses following a car jacking in Dewsbury involving a scar-faced attacker.

A man and woman were dragged from their vehicle on Knowles Hill Road at knife point in the early hours of Sunday morning.

A white man with a scar on his cheek and compass tattoo on the back of his left hand, described as being in his mid twenties to early thirties, stopped his car in the middle of a road in Dewsbury at 1.30am on Sunday morning.

This prompted a 21 year old woman and 18 year old man to stop their car assuming the man needed assistance.

The man then lent in the open window with a knife and demanded the female driver get out of the car.

Two further men both described as five foot seven one mixed race and one white then demanded the passenger get out also.

West Yorkshire Police said: “As well as the car being taken in the robbery, the victims had their laptop, an iPhone and iPod which were inside the car, also taken.”

“Our enquiries are ongoing and I would strongly urge anyone with information or anyone who recognises the men described to get in contact with police.”

Any witnesses are asked to contact West Yorkshire Police immediately on 101 particularly if they saw a black Audi A3 with the registration RV12 driving in the area.
