Proposals to maximise Leeds Bradford Airport’s economic potential are to be discussed by senior councillors at the council’s executive board meeting next Wednesday (15 July).
Plans to develop the land around the airport in Yeadon will be discussed, with the possible release of 36.2 hectares of land on which to do so.
The potential financial boost will aim at improving the facility, involving an expanded passenger terminal as well as the development of an ‘airport village’, boasting a hotel, restaurant and retail outlets.
Improved transport connections including a new link road are also on the agenda.
Tony Hallwood, Leeds Bradford Airport Aviation Development Director said:
‘’LBA fully support Leeds City Council’s proposal to allocate land for employment development at the airport. It will provide an opportunity to support local business growth, attract new investment to the City region, and enhance the strategic economic role of the airport.
