Hello and welcome to Yorkshire Voice’s coverage of the end of the summer transfer window. Today’s deadline is for English domestic transfers only and we are expecting plenty of last minute movement as both Premier League and Football League sides add to their squads ahead of the most hectic season in English football for decades.
- The Said Benrahma and West Ham deal is rumbling on as the deadline ticks by.
- Joe Rodon is set for an £18m move to Spurs.
- Paulo Zabaleta has announced his retirement from football at age 35.
- Harvey Elliott has signed a season-long loan deal with Blackburn.
- Jack Butland’s projected move to Crystal Palace is still incomplete.
Deadline Day round up
Deadline day has come to an end there are still a few deals to be finalised with notable deals such as Benrahama, Butland and Rodon deals. However our coverage is now finished with smaller moves happening and larger deal unfinished.
Knockaert joins Forest
Nottingham Forest have announced the signing of French winger Anthony Knockaert on loan until January.
The former Fulham player has previous experience in the Championship, winning promotion on three separate occasions. Knockaert has already played under manager Chris Hughton before, during his spell at Brighton in the Premier League. The deal has no view to a permanent transfer or an extension of the loan until the end of the season.

Palmer signs for Wigan
Wigan have signed Swindon Town midfielder Matt Palmer on a six-month loan deal. The Latics sign Palmer after only making one league appearance for Swindon in 2020.

Reading striker Sam Smith has agreed a loan move to Tranmere Rovers.
Connolly rejoins Fleetwood Town
Fleetwood have confirmed the signing of Callum Connolly on a season long loan deal from Everton. Connolly is back at Fleetwood after spending six-months with the Cod Army in 2020.

Tottenham have agreed a deal to sign Joe Rodon from Swansea, per Duncan Castles
Clarke to Oldham
Arsenal defender Harry Clarke is set to join Oldham on loan.
Nombe to Luton
Luton have beaten the deadline to sign MK Dons forward Sam Nombe on loan.The young striker takes the step up from League One to the Championship.
Kenny Dougall joins Blackpool
Another deal for the Seasider’s sees Kenny Dougall join on a two-year deal. Dougall was without a club after being released by Barnsley. “I spoke to the gaffer and his philosophy about the way he wants to play football is really attractive and something I wanted to be a part of.” Dougall said when speaking after signing.
