A Leeds University student society is appealing for donations that will be distributed as Christmas gifts to local homeless hostels.
Sarah Hignett, 24, secretary of HOMED Society, said of last year’s Christmas shoebox appeal: “Everyone really appreciated a little bit of Christmas cheer.”
They are particularly keen for donations of sleeping bags, men’s shoes, sanitary towels, chocolate and books.
Donations can be dropped off on Friday December 6 or Monday December 9 in the foyer of Leeds Univeristy student union or LS6 Cafe in Headingley.
