An Extinction Rebellion member has hailed Leeds City Council’s recycling initiative as a step in the right direction towards the city becoming more sustainable.
Joseph Richardson welcomed the on-the-go recycling programme and said he was proud that Leeds had introduced the scheme.
The programme was introduced by Leeds City Council to increase the amount of waste recycled. It includes special coffee cup collection points and reward schemes for recycling.
Mr Richardson stressed that only a complete transformation in consumption would be a long-term solution to making the city, and the world, sustainable.
