Leeds Light Night: By the Docks

Leeds Light Night is special night which consists of many light shows by different artists which are spreaded out across Leeds city centre.

The event goes on for two nights which are a Thursday and a Friday, this usually happens on the 24th and the 25th of October of every year.

This year is the 19th Anniversary as it started in 2015.

Here in Leeds Dock the artwork of the Norwegian artist Anastasia Lsachsen was projected onto a water spring.

She said her art work was inspired by: ‘cylical nature of life, rebirth and the universe’.

The Name of her art work is called ‘Monad’.

It wasn’t only Lsachsen artwork which attracted people to the Docks it was also a group of people banging their drums next to a Dragon which breathed fire.

The light show has attracted more than 1.1 million visitors to the city.

Last year in 2023, Leeds Light Night saw a record 200,000 people in attendance and generating an estimated £3.5 million for the local economy.

This is a great time for the community to get together and witness some spectacular light shows by artists from across the world.
