James Brown is confident that Doncaster have the quality to go up

Doncaster’s new signing James Brown is 100 per cent confident that Doncaster can make a late charge for the playoffs despite their position in the league.

Doncaster Rovers currently find themselves 15th in EFL League Two, but new signing James Brown is confident himself and his new teammates have the quality to push for the playoffs.

But life in a Doncaster shirt didn’t get off to the most forgiving starts, as Doncaster were thumped 4-1 against Mansfield Town, Brown replaced Charlie Seaman for the second half with Rovers already two goals down and having it all to do.

But despite this defeat Brown still thinks that Doncaster have the quality in the team to make a late charge for the play offs as Brown told Yorkshire Voice,

“100 per cent, I’ve played nearly every team in this league so far and the football we play is ten times better than any of them, the players here are quality, the staff are great and once we all gel as a team there’s a real chance here.”

This is Brown’s second loan spell of the season, as he spent the first half of the season at Stockport where he played 22 times and helped the club to 13 cleans sheets before returning back to his parent club Blackburn Rovers.

Before making the move to South Yorkshire Brown did admit that there was two Scottish Premiership teams interested in the young defender but was eager to make the move to Doncaster as he said,

“I could’ve waited for the clubs to come to an agreement, but when these came along, seeing and playing in the stadium, I heard of Danny Schofield and Obviously Greenie, Irish Legend. So, I just wanted to get back playing and with Doncaster in a great position, I know it may not look it but it’s so tight in this league, I thought there was a real chance of getting promoted here.”
