Headingley gets into the groove

Headingley will be alive with the sound of music over the next 11 days with the launch of the sixth annual Headingley Music Festival.

More than 20 artists will appear at a total of seven venues, with everything from gypsy jazz to country music to Latin American folk being played.

The festival kicks off tonight with a CoMA (Contemporary Music for All) performance at the Heart Centre. CoMA is contemporary orchestral music where musically-minded audience members can participate if they wish, or just sit back and listen.

Headingley Music Festival takes place in June each year and is run entirely by a voluntary and community committee.

A full programme of acts can be found on the Festival website here.
