Harrogate Town vs Colchester Press Conference –

Harrogate Town take on Colchester at the EnviroVent Stadium in match-day 40 in the league two of English football. The sides have met previously three times before with Colchester winning two of the three and Harrogate winning the other. Harrogate Town currently sit 5 places above the away side in 15th in the league table.

Harrogate last time out beat Scunthorpe 3-0 and it was needed as form before that has not been so good as they have not won in 7 games previously with big losses to Leyton Orient, Bristol Rovers, Tranmere and an unlucky loss against Hartlepool. Colchester last time out beat Tranmere 1-0 before this win they had lost 1-0 to both Forest Green and Bristol Rovers.

Head Coach of Harrogate Town Simon Weaver said he was very impressed with his sides 3-0-win last weekend against Scunthorpe and said he was very impressed with all the goal scorers George Thomson, Jack Dimond and Will Smith. Even though his side scored 3 in the last game he said he was more impressed with the side keeping a clean sheet as they have all been working on the defensive side of the game and says the back 4 that played took a lot from it and hope to add to that impressive display this weekend against Colchester.

Weaver spoke about how his side dictated the game through his midfield and that is how they created so many chances to score and score they did and hope they can against Colchester on Saturday, this win gave the group a big boost and hope to keep this winning form up. Weaver also said he liked not having a mid-week game as he could focus a lot more on the game this weekend.

Simon Weaver then spoke about how Colchester have changed manager this season and knows this will be a tough game for his group of players and sees it as a step up from the game against Scunthorpe as they are bottom of the table with only 4 wins this season. Colchester are expected to play a 4-2-3-1 formation and this side has been built with a solid core that is hard to break down but with the support of the fans he believes will help his side win, as he thanked his fans for always traveling with the team and always showing support win, lose or draw but the support will make his side push more for wins in the future.
