
Hull KR proved to have too much in the locker for amateur side Lock Lane as they demolished them 104 points to 0, the biggest win in their clubs history sees them through to the 4th round of the challenge cup.
A very strong team was selected by head coach Willie Peters set Lock Lane up for a tough day. Hat tricks from Jack Broadbent and Harvey Horne as well as two tries a piece from Tom Davies and Jack Charles earned victory for KR starting their season off very well.
On the other hand Lane will be proud of their efforts to get to this stage of the competition not only that but facing the best team in the land, a great day out for the lads and for the fans that travelled to the other side of Yorkshire. And will give the squad a big confidence boost ahead of the season for their work up to this stage.
The difference between the teams leagues was astronomical and would have took a miracle for Lock Lane to cause an upset against the English giants especially away from home. The match was originally a home draw for Lock Lane however playing the game at Hull KR meant more money for the club not only that but an incredible experience for everyone involved with Lock Lane.
Hull KR managed 18 tries and 18 conversions coming the way of the flawless Rhyse Martin who currently holds the record for the most successful conversions in a row in the Betfred super league, the best of the best.
Lock Lane had some talented young players on the pitch and former academy players of Castleford tigers, Harry Render ,Taylor Baddley and Leyton Davies. These players were close to getting professional contracts for the super league club so this match would have been a huge deal to these imparticular players.
Hull KR also fielded a former Lock Lane youth player Noah Booth who added to the scoreline another surreal moment in this contest a testament to Noah and Lock Lane for producing a great talent.
