Crash leaves scooter rider with serious injuries

A SCOOTER RIDER has suffered serious injuries after colliding with a car in Leeds early this morning.

The driver of the car did not stop following the accident.

The male rider was left with multiple fractures and taken to Leeds General Infirmary for treatment. His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

The incident happened on Dewsbury Road, at the junction with Trentham Street at 03:50am.

The bike – a Pulse 125 Lightspeed – and a dark-coloured Volkswagen were involved in the collision. The bike was being ridden along Dewsbury Road in the direction of Leeds and the other vehicle was travelling in the opposite direction.

West Yorkshire Police are carrying out enquiries on the car, involving looking at CCTV footage.

Any witnesses to the incident, or anyone who saw the vehicles immediately before the crash, are asked to contact Police on 101, quoting today’s log 155.
