Some of the UK’s finest young championship boxing talent will compete in a major event at the First Direct Arena on September 5.

The main event will feature Josh Warrington face off with Joel Brunkner for the WBC international and commonwealth featherweight title.

Andy Townend and Lee Glover will fight for the English super-featherweight crown.

Also competing are Gavin McDonnell and Jeremy Parodi who will compete for the EBU super-bantamweight title.

The boxers themselves and their promoter Eddie Hearn were keen to communicate their excitement that the event will be held in Leeds.

A 29 year old light heavyweight contender, Callum Johnson, who is looking forward to taking part in his own title match at the event, said: “I’ve competed at the arena twice before, and it’s the best atmosphere I’ve ever come across anywhere.

“The fans are so passionate and involved that it’s always a privilege to come back here. I can’t wait to get in the gym tonight to start my training.”
