Canaries keen to maintain their lofty perch

Championship: Norwich v Preston North End

By Joe Hewlett

Alex Neil’s men from Norwich will be keen to continue their momentum, extending their unbeaten run of three games against Preston North End on Saturday.

The Canaries are set to be without key man Jonny Howson as the midfielder is still recovering from an ankle injury.

Despite being on a run of three unbeaten games, Norwich dropped points in their last match, drawing away to Fulham.
After suffering a slow start to the campaign, Preston are unbeaten in six games but will be looking to erase a troubling trend. The visitors have lost five of their previous eight games at Carrow Road. A quick start could be the answer to Preston’s woes on the road. So far this season, 56% of their goals in the first half.

Norwich will be looking to continue a trend of their own. The Canaries are unbeaten at home this season and boast the joint best home record in the league whilst Preston have recorded just one victory in six on the road.

Norwich City will be expecting strong home support with their attendance being the fifth best in the league so far this year with an average of 26,813.

Preston last played Norwich in the 2015 FA cup third round which resulted in Preston becoming victorious in a 2-0 win. Striker Paul Gallagher bagged both goals in the last head to head between the two clubs and will be looking to continue his fine form, assisting two goals and scoring one against Huddersfield in his last match.
