All ten Formula One constructors unveiled their 2025 liveries on Tuesday’s glitzy 75th anniversary launch show at London’s O2 arena.

It may have been a controversial event (reigning world champion Max Verstappen said he ‘hoped he was sick’) but it did give us a chance to check out each team’s new paint job. Find out which challengers look set to dazzle on track as we rank their looks from 10th to 1st.
10th Stake Sauber: 4/10

The O2 flashed like a marker pen as the team that brought up the rear in 2024 stepped up to provide the first reveal of the evening. It went about as well as Machine Gun Kelly’s cringeworthy opening performance. Last year Stake Sauber used the neon green comparatively sparingly but this will not be the case in 2025. The previous look, with the green accents providing eye-catching support to a mostly carbon base, was among my favourites. However, this version is almost offensively neon. Stake will be hoping that the blinding paint job translates into blinding speed on the circuit. Not likely.
9th Red Bull: 5/10

Red Bull has a reputation for providing pretty much the same livery every year, to the extent that it’s a bit of a modern classic these days. So is that the case in 2025? In a word…yes. On first glance it’s nearly exactly the same. On second glance…. Yeah it’s the same. I actually really like the Red Bull colours myself, but I can’t help but feel that for this 75th anniversary special event they could have done something a little bit different. Perhaps this car will do the talking on the track and deliver Max Verstappen a 5th consecutive world title.
8th Mercedes: 6/10

For the first time since 2012, Mercedes unveiled a livery without 7 time world champion Lewis Hamilton alongside it. So, yes – it is silver. And yes, it doesn’t look too much different from the 2024 iteration. However, closer inspection reveals some neat black streaks across the nose and the odd glimpse of faded green on the sidepods. It doesn’t reinvent the wheel but it’s a Merc, it’s a silver arrow and it does the job.
7th Haas: 6/10

The American team broke cover in 2025 to reveal something pretty similar to their 2024 effort with a bit more white and a bit less black. Overall, it’s still the same idea: white, black and a bit of red is what we are used to from Haas. An extra point needs to be awarded for the black font used on the side pods, and the red emblazoned across the front wing will certainly stand out on track. This is going to be the 10th season for the team in Formula 1, and they sport an all new driver lineup with rookie Ollie Bearman joined by former Alpine man Esteban Ocon.
6th Aston Martin: 6/10

Aston Martin gave a humorous nod to their James Bond connection with their reveal, showcasing drivers Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll sauntering onto the runway in suave suits with the 007 theme ringing out around the O2. The livery? Largely the same as last year with the British racing green taking centre stage alongside a fresh dash of white on the airbox and black on the sidepods. Adding white seems to be the 2025 way to add a bit of character and this Aston livery is a slight upgrade on last season. Some swanky gold lettering is doing a lot of heavy lifting here.
5th McLaren: 7/10

The 2024 constructors champions coined the confusing term ‘papaya rules’ last season, a coded message to drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri meaning….. something or another. The McLaren orange has become an iconic F1 look over the last few years, and the Woking outfit have stuck with those colours this time around. When I say that, I mean it. It’s exactly the same apart from a little flicker of white and blue around the cockpit. Luckily for McLaren, last year’s championship winning look was a good one. The team showcased their history with the reveal, featuring classic McLaren machinery from years gone by. They will be hoping this livery will join those cars in the history books.
4th Williams: 7/10

I had high hopes for Williams after they unveiled their actual 2025 car in a beautiful ‘camo’ livery. While the visuals here don’t quite hit the heights of the testing version, the simple, largely blue colour scheme looks sleek and effortless. The Duracell battery airbox was always a brilliant idea and it works really well with this new look. Sometimes simplicity is the way to go and removing a lot of the white accents makes this a comfortable visual upgrade from last year.
3rd Ferrari: 8/10

Like Red Bull and Mercedes, there’s only so much you can do with a Ferrari. It’s red. Unlike Red Bull and to an extent Mercedes, the history and prestige that is synonymous with the prancing horse means it doesn’t really matter what Ferrari do with their livery; it’s going to turn heads. So what have they done to spice things up this year as Lewis Hamilton joins Charles Leclerc to form arguably the strongest lineup on the grid? Well, like a few of the other teams, they’ve decided to add white. White front wing, white rear wing, a white panel across the body. There’s also a lovely blue moment on the back of the rear wing, a nod to sponsor HP. But it’s a Ferrari, and it’s the red we are here for. And what a lovely, deep shade of scarlet it is. You can’t really go wrong.
2nd Alpine: 8/10

Last year Alpine came under heavy fire for producing a largely carbon livery, which saves weight whilst sacrificing exciting looks. This is usually a worrying sign – a team that feels the need to take such drastic weight saving measures is often concerned about a lack of pace. Could they right that wrong this time around? A resounding yes sir – the 2025 Alpine is teeming with colour. Pink and blue are the stars here as the French team combine their two signature colours to create a fun and eye-catching livery. The shade of pink utilised on the nose cone is incredibly satisfying and combines beautifully with the predominantly blue body. Merci Alpine!

Cor blimey! The new VCARB is utterly gorgeous. Driver Yuki Tsunoda said it best: “It’s bright, it’s white and it’s one of the best liveries I’ve ever seen.’ The white bodywork with the blue and yellow Red Bull accents is a beautiful combination that creates something incoming rookie Isack Hadjar deduced will ‘look great on the grid.’ Too right Isack. The team with the worst name in Formula 1 history has really produced the goods here. Here’s hoping the performance will live up to its looks.
