Yorkshire Charity Nominated For A King’s Award

Healthy Minds in Halifax is being nominated for a King’s Award for services to the community.

The charity’s primary focus is to provide a range of services for local people to support their well-being.

The King’s Award is the highest award that can be given to volunteer groups in the UK. This recognises the work that volunteer groups do for local communities.

They are rewarded with a certificate from the King and a domed glass crystal, with some groups even being invited to a Royal garden party.

Healthy Minds is for all ages and aims to support everyone. A user of Healthy Minds said :‘’Its nice to know that I have somewhere to go and speak to somebody because there are not many charities that offer that’’.

They offer many different types of help such as drop-in sessions, peer support and guided group walks where people can come together and get some exercise in a safe environment.

They will be assessed for the King’s Award in the coming weeks but if you would like to support them you can donate on their website – https://cafdonate.cafonline.org/3871#!/DonationDetails.
