Today marks the annual recognition of World Menopause day, with the theme of this year being to raise awareness of menopause and in particular this year, bone health.

The purpose of the campaign is to raise awareness surrounding menopause and the support options that are available for improving health and wellbeing.

Founder of Menopause Matters, Diane Danzebrink has started a petition to ensure that women are receiving the right help and support for menopause from health professionals, employers and their family and friends.

To date, the amount of signatures that the petition has received stands at 156,672Β .

Professionals and women from around the world are encouraged to print and share materials, organise and attend events within their communities and use social media platforms to share World Menopause Day posts.

Today, many women and professionals have taken to Twitter to share their own experiences, raise awareness and to encourage change.

All On The Board are one of the top tweets under the hashtag #worldmenopauseday, alongside Davina McCall, those involved with the campaign and women worldwide sharing their own personal experiences.

The International Menopause Society website hosts a number of useful recourses in relation to World Menopause Day, including patient information leaflets, engagement toolkits and reports from around the world.
