Leeds City Council have announced a new strategy to combat healthcare inequality across the city.
Following data that showed 26% of Leeds’s population lived in the top 10% of most deprived areas, the strategy was launched to address the underlying causes of poor health.
Leeds Hospitals Charity have been working to improve healthcare outcomes, which are also affected by health inequality.
Further reduction of inequality will need to go beyond the NHS and require collaboration between groups to allow for a healthier Leeds.
